Seventh Annual UPDATE Program at Holy Cross a Great Success
The SynCure Cancer Research Foundation and the Michael and Diane Bienes Cancer Center at Holy Cross Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida held their 7th consecutive annual UPDATE program March 27, 2010. The purpose of the UPDATE programs are to provide a substantive educational program on advancements in cancer research and treatment and on skills for coping with cancer for cancer patients/survivors, their friends and family, the health care support community, and the general public. As was the case in the previous six years, the symposium was deemed a great success. Unlike last year’s program that dealt with only breast cancer, this year the program returned to the predominant format that covers cancer in many forms.
Based on both verbal and written comments from the audience, the program was very well received. (A Comment/Suggestion form was provided for attendees to complete at the end of the program.) Some of the comments received were:
- Wow! Great program.
- Outstanding speakers!
- Excellent program with ultra-qualified speakers.
- Always very good.
- Absolutely magnificent. An inspirational educational program.
- Very informative.
In addition, the evaluation forms asked for a numeric rating of the symposium on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the best. The average score given was 4.7.
